Clustering Commendations

When assembling a wardrobe cluster select approximately three colors as the basis of your color palette. In our example cluster we selected red, yellow, and blue. Using the hues of a favored garment print can be a lovely point of inspiration.

When embarking, try to pack by this formula: rather than one outfit per day, aim for one garment per 24 hours of adventure.

If you're not going to wear the item at least twice, don't add it to your knapsack.

There's never a good excuse for more than three pairs of shoes, and usually you can subsist on two.

Don't forget accessories, they take up a small amount of room and can significantly extend the variety of your traveling closet.

Folding in a few layers (sweaters, hoodies) may seem like a waste of carry-on space, but in reality these threads are mode multipliers. Wear your bulkiest overlay as you enplane. It will be a cozy friend in the chilly cabin as well as at the windy beach cafe.

Entertainment Fashion: Lois Lane (Superman Returns)

Entertainment Recommendation Four:
Lois Lane of Superman Returns

High-waisted trousers, draped silk blouses, and forties inspired, feminine menswear. Superman Returns robes the iconic Lois Lane in a classic Katherine Hepburn wardrobe.  The stills honestly don't do the art-deco-dent costume design justice, I can only say, if skirts from a four-year-old movie, are still embedded in my frontal cortex, you should rent it this weekend.

Entertainment Fashion: Charlotte "Chuck" Charles (Pushing Daisies)

Entertainment Recommendation Three:
Charlotte "Chuck" Charles of Pushing Daisies

Quixotic and intoxicating as the opening scenes of Amelie, the costume design adds to the fairy tale characterization.  Indulge in the first season's full skirts and head scarves then devour the second season's pedal pushers and mod minis
Although this program met an untimely fate due to the writer's strike, you can still procure the complete First and Second Season of Pushing Daisies

Entertainment Fashion: Emma Pillsbury (Glee)

The programs watched for character development, dramatic plot, or comedic delivery have seceded for summertide.  Now its time to discover moving picture reruns which I recommend solely on their fashion content.  Enact your muter if you must, but don't miss a stitch or button.

Entertainment Recommendation One:
Emma Pillsbury of Glee

3 words: cardigans, pencil skirts, and brooches
3 synonyms: sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows

Pregnancy Inspiration: Cool Names for Babies

Juliet was wrong, names are of unequivocal import.

I've used Cool Names for Babies (please ignore the pedantic title) to name all my dozens upon dozens of imaginary babies and to refine the name of my one really, real baby.  Andrew wanted to name our cherub Koko...disaster narrowly averted.

Shabby Apple: Sheepies & Secrets

Hebrew Reachel translates baby lamb "ewe."  And I love me some lambs, regardless of whether or not petting them at the State Fair caused me to break out into lamb lice.

In any case, I consider Shabby Apple's Sheep Meadow frock  aptly named. I love it like my own bottle-fed lambkin.  If the pictures don't tell story enough for you, let me elaborate in letters:

1.  Sleeves:  Even though I have a sweater collection fit for every imaginable scenario, Satan's hot windy breath has already reached Arizona's borders.  I extol the flexibility to remove my cardi thereby circumventing unnecessary visits to my dry cleaner.

2.  Color: Green, love child of blue and yellow, obediently compliments its parents, while flaring fiery contrasted romances with red, magenta, and orange.

3.  Pattern:  Stripes, nautically charismatic in their own right, and a naturally blending secondary pattern for florals and other fussier breeds.

4. Waist:  The a-line skirt flaring from a defined empire waist defines my figure while shrouding 12 week old Baby Billie.  I was curiously tempted to see how far into my second trimester I could selfishly cloister my favorite secret, using only the magic of fashion.  But proud Monsieur Bagley's secret keeper is about to rupture.  He's only been waiting six years to sire a flock.
