Fitting Room Empress

Since when did you become subservient to your wardrobe? Your clothing exists to serve you. You own every piece in your closet, and it is there to do your bidding. If your clothing is sloppy, or binding, or frumpy, banish them from your kingdom.

Fashion exists to make you feel pretty. The greatest honor you could offer a piece of clothing is to invite it into your empire. When it fails to do your body justice - it should be ashamed. It should feel ashamed and skulk back to the retail floor in hopes that it can do better work for a different empress.

When you enter a dressing room, you're inviting those pieces to an interview. Try each piece on to evaluate what it does for your body. Go shopping like you're a human resources director. Different clothes serve different roles. They offer structure,
they highlight features, they ensure you are showing respect for yourself and those you encounter. Your body doesn't need to change to fit into clothing. However, you may need to tailor or alter clothing to fit your body.

This is not debatable. This is a fact. Comprende? you: sovereign queen, clothes: menial serfs. Rule your closet with a firm hand and it will serve you well.

  3. What a PERFECT way to look at purchasing clothing. I have been a menial serf to my clothes for years -- now I feel enlightened and YES, empowered!
