Closet Organization: Folding

Once Again, Ms. BHO

To Fold or To Hang

Fold: Knits (wool, cashmere, jersey, fleece etc)
things that stretch
These limber lovelies can not endure gravity's burden, if dangled from a hanger they will be languorously distorted.
Hang: Woven (silk, cotton broadcloth, tweed, etc)
things that wrinkle
These prim pretties prefer crisp suspension.

When folding, ensure every item is visible and accessible.  A tidy, flat stack of folded knits will quickly become jumbled chaos if removal is requisite to retrieval.

  4. OK. I totally laughed my @ss of at that thong folding segment... but then I thought 'well, let me try this just for giggles'... and OMG! I have so much more space in my drawer! I always had drawer dividers to keep things in their own compartments, but WOW! Thank you for posting that. I think I'll blog about your blog post some day soon! :) kiki

  6. What a great video and your to fold or not to fold post. I keep going back and forth with folding and hanging my jersey knit tops. Now that I know how to fold them from the video I'll go back to folding them.
