A Short Interruption

Bits of cheerios on my living room rug commingle with piles of cooling laundry.  My abandoned open laptop drains its battery, as a barrage of e-mails and a half-composed post on Maternity Fashion Flops dance and dim across the screen.

But Coco and I are snuggled up for an afternoon siesta.  The squishiness of her thighs and the scent of cupcakes behind her neck rolls lured me in.

Her siren song was just to compelling today.  I promise to come back a very efficient adult on Monday, can you forgive me my Friday forbearance?

  1. I just had to untangle myself from my little one's snuggle to go to work. I'm jealous, snuggle her all day if you can.

  5. I agree with the above poster: More Coco!!

I often abandon my "shoulds" so that I can snuggle up with my little ones, so... go for it!

  8. Are you Kidding? All mothers should snuggle and take siesta's with their babies any chance they can get! There's plenty of time to be an adult, but these moments are limited and precious—ENJOY!

  9. ignore the work!!
work lives on, but babies are only babies for a VERY short time.
thats what i learned from baby #3.
lucille is almost 3 and i still give her a bottle. its my way of holding on to baby for as long as i can.
she is most likely my last. and she loves being a baby.
so i just gaze into her eyes and indulge this.

have fun on your cruise. wish we were going with you.
    hugs--jilly
