by Scott Schuman
Sartorial: From Late Latin sartor, tailor. Of or pertaining to clothing or style or manner of dress
As a devoted logophile, addicted to fancy synonyms, the concept had me at appellation.
And I've adored the Sartorialist blog cataloging street fashions on real people for many moons, but now a book of the best.
id est: Missy Milano, I fancy this modern fancy, sans the life span truncating addiction stick.
And what focus on next week? Closet Organizing Tools, Detestable Fashion, Plus Sizes? It's like too many pretty shoes, vote in the comments and help me decide.
Is it greedy to want all three?
ReplyDeleteI want this book so bad!! Ive been stalking the sartorialist for a very long time. Scott is a genius. My favorite subject is Anna della Russo-so chic!!!Love ya
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear about closet tips but all of the subjects sound fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI know this isn't on your list, but I would love some more blogs on dressing for pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteYour vocabulary has me speechless. I just love it!
ReplyDeletedetestable fashion. fun!
ReplyDeleteI want it all, but detestable fashion sounds like so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI love words too. It is one of my favorite things about your blog. I vote closet tips ... but also plus size. My number is just over the lip now, and it is exponentially harder to dress my current frame.
ReplyDeletedetestable fashion. then plus size after that!
ReplyDeleteI have a question: My measurements say I'm an hourglass, but I really have no hips, my butt just sticks out really far in back. So what am I?
ReplyDeleteoh closet tips please! just in time for spring cleaning :)
ReplyDeletexo, em
detestable fashion!!
ReplyDeleteall three sound amazing, but I can't wait for detestable fasion~!
ReplyDeleteCloset organizing. Though I could probably better benefit from the detestable fashion advise - as in: what not to wear.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great book recommendations!
All of the above!
ReplyDeleteBTW I loved the book recommendations last week. There are so many books out there on style and fashion but if you recommend it, that means a lot to me. Please keep the recommendations coming.
Definitely all three! Maybe closet organization, as swapping out winter to spring clothes is high on the to-do list. (Also, can you share you secrets for storing sweaters moth free?) then detestable fashion then plus sizes
ReplyDeleteall three need to be covered so i cant wait!!
ps not sure what happened to my shift button but it"s not working so please forgive my lack of proper punctuation and capitalization<<<
Detestable fashion definitely with closet tips as a close runner up! Love your vocabulary!
ReplyDeleteDear Empress,
ReplyDeleteI am an apple. Pants are my nemesis (or so I think). My mid-section is two sizes larger than my hips and thighs. When jeans fit comfortably around my waist, they are baggy elsewhere. When they flatter my rump, I can't suck in enough to button them closed.
I've resorted to stretchy waisted skirts.
Please advise.
Sincerely,
Stuck in the Middle
nice blog :)
ReplyDeleteYes, closet organizing. I need that!!
ReplyDeleteKatherine-
ReplyDeleteMy body type recommendations are based on both numbers and a full body shot.
I recommend basing your decision on the same. The numbers are an informative starting point, but your personal experience should guide you first and foremost.
Best,
Reachel
Stuck in the Middle, I have noted your call to the Empress. Stay tuned.
ReplyDeleteScott is a genius. My favorite subject is Anna della Russo-so chic!!!Love ya
