Whether twinning girls and boys or sweet and sour, sometimes the interconnected whole triumphs over seemingly contrary pieces. This week, the mystical Chinese concept of Yin & Yang in creative fashion assembly.
Whether you're naturally honeyed or innately edgy, learn to appreciate the other side of the styling spectrum. Then mix and match a little fancy with a little cozy as we venture.
And TREASURES, you'll have the chance to win a piece from Downeast Basic's counteracting collection of Vintage Looks, Modern Style.
Take for example, the softly styled Ruffled Feathers Top, now entwined in the following illustrative Yin/Yang ensemble.

My favorite outfit is structured/unstructured, proper/girly:
ReplyDeleteCupid cardigan in plantation
Cut and paste tee in grey
Perfect plaid skirt in grey
Zip line bag in magenta
I love the heirloom cardigan!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Classy Curator Dress. Feminine, but sort of edgy.
ReplyDeleteI love the Weave Hello top. That color is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI like the decorator tee in Java. It has the solid, modern color mixed up with some romantic details.
ReplyDeleteI love the Fancy Flounce Skirt in limestone.
ReplyDeleteI love the opposites attract thing going on now with jewelry, all the mixing of chains & metallics w/pearls & soft fabrics...material girl all over again!
ReplyDeleteI love the Decorator Tee. I spend my winters covered in cardigans, so fun details on tees are a must - and I love this tee's ruffly detail!
ReplyDeletei liked the knit pick dress best. I would wear it with my favorite boots and my red necklace.
ReplyDeleteI love a girly, girly dress and shoes with a simple jean jacket and casual hair and makeup.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is probably the "Your Highness Dress." So pretty!
ReplyDeleteHeidi~
I love the decorator tee. Can wear so many ways.
ReplyDeleteThe Pin Dot Skirt is to die for!

Love the frosted flowers cardigan!
ReplyDeleteI could use the vintage lace skirt with some moto boots I've been dreaming of.
ReplyDeleteI adore both the heirloom cardi and the every angle pencil skirt. DEB has such cute styles!
ReplyDeleteI really like a lot of the tees and tops, but I like these pieces too, because they are how I would like to dress:
ReplyDeleteLong stem top in mercury
Decorator tee in white or java
Infatuation cardi
Perfect Peplum jacket in deep plum
Custom couture skirt in either color.
Super pretty!
It's hard to decide which one is my favorite. I think since I don't have many dresses that I would have to go with the Your Highness Dress. I like it in both colors but would probably go with the Rabbit(brown) color.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that I found your blog!
I like contrasting colors and I like a men's style blazer over a really feminine and ruffly dress or skirt.
ReplyDeleteLove the bouquet skirt and the roses edge skirt.
ReplyDeleteI like the Infatuation Cardigan because pairing a knit sweater with a silk or rayon top is one of my favorite ways to bring opposites together, not to mention it allows summer shirts to be worn well into winter as well.
ReplyDeleteI love the countess skirt/dress (worn as a skirt)
ReplyDeletea light flowy skirt over black knee-high boots
ReplyDeleteI like the heirloom cardi.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite fashionable opposites attract is always black and white. Isn't that everyone's?
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore the Southern Belle top!
ReplyDeleteI love the bed of roses skirt!
ReplyDeleteI love the Cascading Skirt! I would love to see it with some tall boots, and a belted cardigan in a fun color (maybe mustard colored).
ReplyDeleteI adore the Weave Hello Top in Windsor Wine... and while I'm still figuring out my personal style(19 and breaking away from my tee-and-jeans uniform of high school), I love pairing a soft, flouncy, lacy skirt with structured tops.
ReplyDeleteI love the fancy flounce skirt. Thanks !

ReplyDeleteI am in love with the Sequenced Tee. So gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love mixing edgy/dark with soft/light textures and colors when making my outfits.
ReplyDeleteI love the decorator tee. Wearing it with skinny jeans would give my usual "mom uniform" of jeans and a t-shirt some extra style.
ReplyDeleteOh la la la! I love their cascading skirt! It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love the Southern Belle top! Downeast is such a fun store.
ReplyDeleteI love the Ruffled around the edges dress! SO gorgeous!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite yin yang combo is a very structured top or jacket with a billowy, romantic scarf, and a pair of flirty heels!
ReplyDeletemy favorite look right now that incorporates opposites is the following:
ReplyDeletea light green silk, flowy cap sleeved shirt tucked into my favorite black pencil skirt (that has a panel of vertical ruffles) with a great zig-zag patterned tight, ankle boots and my cropped black faux leather motorcycle jacket. a great blend of hard and soft.
