Easter Frockery: Hourglass Figure

Like a game of dot to dot, all the dress must accomplish is follow the lines of your equitably contoured hourglass figure.

1. Easter outfitting would certainly be deficient without at least the suggestion of millinery. The cherry a top the creamy vanilla lines of the Paisley jacquard Dress, dramatized by the Victorian collared With-A-Flourish Shirt Dress complete with waist belt to cinch in on your little waist.

2. There's no occasion for puffed sleeves, full skirts, or other illusions. Couple a fitted bodice with a pencil skirt and you're ready to go. In this case to a fairy tale tropical escape with your Maidens Braid Cardi and Inagua Dress.

The Upper Figured Princess will emerge from the shadows tomorrow.

  1. What's up with the two strapless options? I am guessing this won't work for a large portion of your readers. Even with a coat or sweater over it.

  2. Becky-
Both strapless options actually come with detachable straps. The added bonus of this feature is you can adjust the shoulder length and rise of the dress.

  3. I agree with Becky. I have an hourglass figure, but a prominent surgical scar just beneath my collarbone makes anything strapless out of the question for me.

But these are cute combos -- definitely something to think about while I'm out shopping for just the right v-neck dress!

  4. Nora & Becky-
Here are two options with sleeves:

However, the necklines on both of these options do reveal the collarbone. You could wear a bold necklace to camouflage the scar. Or you could try the featured sweater or overcoat which would actually cover your collarbones.

    Happy Easter!

  5. Actually, I think the first option on today's 'upper figure' post above might be just what I was looking for!

And thanks for the follow up suggestions -- one of these days, when I get some wiggle room in the ol' budget, I'd love to consult with you on how to pick tops that flatter my figure without showcasing my scars.
