Sweet, Shiny Wash
When I yoga into forward bend, I like smelling my knees. Swathed in polyester spandex, they are sweet with the bouquet of Renewing Rain. It started as an olfactory attraction, but its grown into a refined commitment, driven by cleanliness, fiber preservation, and sensational fluffiness.
If you want your patellas to smell yummy, click on over to Tide Total Care. While you're there doing reconnaissance with Mr. Tim Gunn you can ask for a free sample (which comes complete with a lovely little coupon).
So what's your favorite laundry solution? Let us know your favorite way to keep you pretties soft, sweet, and shiny.

I do like All Small and Mighty. Have you tried dryer balls (instead of dryer sheets)? Just wondering if they are better or worse for clothes... they are supposed to be more environmentally friendly.
ReplyDeletei just switched to this actually and looooove it
ReplyDeleteI'm really allergic to Tide, so we use Cheer. It's...OK. I haven't tried Tide in years for obvious reasons, but I may have grown out of it or they may have changed the formulation. So, possibly worth a shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat I do love is what I use on my handwashables - it's a product made for washing/blocking my handknits called Soak. It doesn't need to be rinsed out. I toss my nicey things in the washer filled with water and Soak, let it do just that, and then spin. It's fantastic, and comes in lots of yummy scents for my capricious nose.
I love the smell of Tide-washed clothes, and I don't think I do anything special to keep that incredible fresh laundry smell in my clothes...I think it's the Tide. I can be found at least once a day with my face in a shirt, towel, etc just smelling that wonderful fresh laundry smell...and then my husband will mock me. But I don't care. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I am a fan of Method free+clear. At $14/ bottle it's terribly expensive, but we use about 1 bottle every 2 months. I think it works well, but it's painful at the checkout counter.
ReplyDeleteWith this endorsement, I am def. going to try out the Tide Total Care.
We use ECOS Magnolia and Lily its the first stuff that I have found that has a mild fragrance that doesn't irritate my kids skin. You can get it at Costco for about $14.00 210 loads for HE washers!! And it's earth friendly!
ReplyDeleteHandmade laundry detergent (washing soda, fels naptha, borax) with a vinegar rinse - no harsh poisons or chemicals on our clothing, thank you! Also - it costs pennies per load and TRULY WORKS.

I use that Tide! I like it -- I bought into the marketing hype, but I just bought it again because I feel like it is gentle. And the price is right. I also use about half the amount it tells me to, which I've heard is good for clothes and the budget
ReplyDeleteAllen's Naturally is excellent--dye-free, natural (but of course!), super-concentrated, and scent-free (though I suppose you could throw in a drop of non-staining essential oils if you like). A gallon ($35) lasted me, my husband, and my cloth-diapered little one a year and a half--and I do insane amounts of laundry. I'll never change brands again. ;)
ReplyDeleteI like All Small and Mighty and like it much!
ReplyDeleteI love Tide Total Care, but have had to put it on hold with a newborn. My very favorite combo ever is Dreft combined with Downy Simple Pleasures fabric softener in Lavender Vanilla. The resulting scent is HEAVENLY!
ReplyDeleteI also like Woolite Darks for my darks. It keeps my clothes looking great, similar to Tide Total Care.
Trader Joe's liquid laundry detergent has a heavenly lavender scent- from real lavender essential oil. Sometimes I go into my laundry room just to uncap it and take a whiff. I have sensitivities, and can't handle any artificial scents, etc.
ReplyDeleteI use regular Tide but I haven't tried this, I love the Downy Simple Pleasures Lavendar and Vanilla- mmmmmmmm.
ReplyDeleteNasty chemical smells make my clothes sad. TJ's lavender, ECOs lavender, or--when I'm feeling super homesteady--homemade detergent with a bit of lavender oil. Dried outside in the sunshine and then dryer fluffed for softeness/wrinkle removal. Heavenly.
