Babies should never be suited in shapers; rolls are part of their mystique. However, that doesn't mean these wee ones don't require foundational garments, specifically the diaper. While there are a myriad of nappy options, at present I am leaning towards the cloth variety for the following reasons:
1. I am adamantly opposed to synthetic fibers. I would never wear vinyl myself and swaddling Baby Bagley bums in plastic violates core fashion philosophies. 2. You can hang them on the line to dry in the sun. If that isn't my picture of happy motherhood, I don't know what is.
3. While more of an investment up front, they're reusable properties make them a better value over time, especially since they can be used on multiple children.
4. Obviously they're cute. Like I would recommend something that was entirely practical.

I love and use cloth for both my kids, my daughter 1st the kid potty trined at 18 months, I have a 6 month old boy now we love haveing soft sweetness on his bummy! plus the AZ sun gets them dry in 20 min (I do fluff them in the dryer for 15 min to fluff up the fibers then put them on the line)

ReplyDeleteI cloth diapered my youngest and I loved it. I started out with Gdiapers and then moved to Fuzzy Bunz. They are so adorable and I loved that I never ran out of diapers. I did however choose her outfits so I could show off her diapers. No onesies for her - you can't cover up all that cuteness!

ReplyDeleteI planned to use cloth on my last baby. Since the main argument in my case was cuteness, my husband vetoed me. I'll keep working on him for the next one though.

Tried thos g-diapers. Didn't exactly work for me, but it's a very good concept.
ReplyDeleteCloth diapers are a thing of beauty and a joy forever. ;) I am glad you posted about them as many people still only think of prefolds. I made all mine of cotton terry to offset the cost, but they are indeed delightful.

I have been cloth diapering for more than 8 years and every time I resort to a disposable I remember why!
ReplyDeleteFor the perfect combination of cuteness (with an edge if that's your thing) and fantastic function my hands-down favs are Gen-y diapers
