Organization as Anti-Depressants

When my mind gets untidy, I console with drawer catharsis.  It's cheap therapy, and provides cerebral solace every time you brush your teeth, comb your hair, or groom your guise.  In preparation, I played patron at half a dozen stores looking for the best priced, most useful organizers, here are the results.

Chief Clutter Killing Champion: Ikea.  And my empirical associates, I do not fancy Ikea.  Andrew drags me there every other week to spend an hour looking at drawer hinges.  When Levi was nesting in my belly, I threw up in one of those big yellow bags while sitting on the couch of a tiny staged living rooms.  Yet despite my reservations, their organizers (here & here) were the smartest when it came to functions and fees.

Target Claimed Runner Up:  While out of Missoni throws and flats, they had a plenitudinous stock of fairly priced basic organizing options

Below are my results with a few tips neatly tucked in:
1) Consider efficiency based groupings.  These drawers are grouped and sub-grouped by like function, but you could also dedicate and group spaces by owner, or frequency of use, or the order in which they appear in your morning toilette.
2) Adhere expiration dates to your lotions and potions.  Cosmetics may claim to reduce the years on your complexion, but they have also age and loose potency themselves.  When you buy a new item, script the month and year of open on a round sticker label then fix it to the bottom of the product.  This will make tossing decisions systematically simplistic during seasonal cleanings.

3) Layer shelving.  Don't waste space in deep drawers.  Get sliding expandable trays that can double your drawer storage opportunities.  Keeping them clear ensures you don't loose visibility of the first floor of storage
I've been so loyal to my brand of facial moisturizer since high school, I've change formulas as I've ages, but I never even allowed my gaze to glance at creamy competitors.  We have a serious, committed relationship.  But my skin feels tingly when thinking about my recent sample of Sibu Repair & Protect. I even get jealous when Andrew sneaks a pump.  It's just rich enough but not at all greasy, smells lovely, and makes my skin feel young and taut, and yes a touch tingly.
If you like this kind of neurotically neat stuff, you should come and see what I'm planning for your closet at the Hello There! House Home & Garden Event. Slots for the two day expo on painting, thrifting, refinishing, decorating, gardening and of course turning an ordinary closet into a custom clothing boutique are selling out, so add registration to your to-do list.
