The temporarily overlooked conclusion, is now available. Short skirts need not make your shy knees quiver. Below are three clever solutions to solve your lower limb induced calamity.
While you're waiting for your Vintage Hem slip to be delivered, layer a fitted skirt underneath a fuller one. It creates instant additional length. However it also creates instant additional length which is perfect should you favor petticoat-ed panache.
With slim denim beneath, one is free to angle over in infinite directions without apprehension of exposure.
Glamour leggings, I told you I'd mate heels with them.
Surprisingly, the last look with the leggings doesn't look all that bad.
ReplyDeleteIn a good way. I normally hate the look...
The first two are heavenly however.
I LOVE the last dress. Where did you get it?
ReplyDeleteI wish I had just 1/10th of your style!
ReplyDeleteI think you may be my style soul mate! :D Thank you so much for the hem skirts! I have so many things that will be worn now thanks to you. Keep up the amazing work!

the first dress is the cutest thing everrr!
ReplyDeleteThis is inspiring. I love dresses and skirts, but not on me. I dislike my legs and avoid the dresses with leggings because I am 40 and I'm not sure that I could pull it off at my age. I echo Maija's question--at what age is leggings off-limits?
ReplyDeleteNone of those outfits would be age-appropriate for Grandma. Coco would not want me to dress my age. I will stick with the outfits I have and leave the leggings to Mommy.
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!
ReplyDeleteSUPER fabulous.
p.s. love your hair too.
Oh wow, your red dress is beautiful - I've just come across your blog now and love it!!
ReplyDeleteFor my sophisticated matrons wondering about age appropriate leggings...I'd recommend matte black tights over black leggings on the other side of forty.
ReplyDeleteRachael, always adorable!!
ReplyDeleteBut, do I have trouble with the leggings/short dress look. If I wouldn't wear the look with bare legs or hose, what makes it OK with leggings? I see my YW girls doing this at church and one false move and you can see more leg than you bargained for at church. The most recent offender was not a young girl but was a pregnant gal - wearing the black leggings and a short knit dress that had hiked itself way up the back because of belly issues up front, and, well, the leggings were not so opaque in the back. An eye full. Again, I really struggle with this look. Do the leggings make wearing shorter than you normally would or could wear OK? I am still not convinced but you do look oh so adorable!! Hugs!
Meredith,
ReplyDeleteThanks for bringing this up. First I will emphasize that leggings are not pants, they are cousins of stockings. If you wouldn't wear the dress with stockings, don't wear it with leggings. While leggings have a higher denier than most stockings, they are just as revealing.
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove this blog.
ReplyDeleteAnd can I say, if you ever choose to part with your gorgeous Caranday dress (red stripe dream from the frist picture), will you please sell it to me?
carie skinner at yahoo dot com.
these are like my three favorite outfits over! you look so adorable
ReplyDeleteThanks Miss Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI think the leggings were borrowed from you. I do own my very own pair now.
